A bit about myself

My name is Ken Cornish and I have been involved with various Churches and denominations for the most part of my life.

An Elder with the United Reformed Church. Also a joint experiment with the United Reformed/Methodist, Tiverton. For eleven years Pastor of the Metropolitan Church in Exeter.

For a number of years I was in the Wilderness, not to say I had lost my faith, very much to the contrary.

I happen to be gay and have a Civil Partner, Shaun. I believe God created me that way, for a purpose, that is to help support and travel a journey with others like myself. I believe in the sanctity and value of all things living.

My Ministry now is a non-preaching, but listening, sharing and practical support, for all who come, and are weary, stressed, and questioning the meaning of life.

My Views

I believe I’ve grown spiritually. But I continue to have a problem with Religious History, from the inquisitions/Holy Wars!! To the bickering about women Bishops/gay pastors, policies on birth control - causing the spread of HIV/untold suffering in the third world. The cover-ups about abuse, the narrow-minds, the hypocritical self-righteous judgemental attitudes. All this is turning thousands away from God because of religion.

I believe Christian, Buddhist, Muslims and most of the off-shoot sects have more in common than differences and are on different pathways searching the same Creator, God. The disillusioned with no religious belief desperately seeking a meaning and purpose to life.

That is why I have created the Agape web site, providing a common space for those having travelled the road that may have also crossed the wilderness or have been excluded from the organised religions and sects because of race, sexuality etc.

I hope you enjoy the website, please feel free to contact me regarding articles, or if you would like an article submitted. The aim is to make the website as interactive as possible, a place to discuss and air your views, or to add an event you would like listed.

Please let us know of any new joys we can celebrate! Cares we can share, burdens being carried, illness being suffered and requests for help, support and prayers.
